StepTales Terms of Use

These terms apply alongside Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which governs your licence to use the app.

Virtual journeys

StepTales journeys are virtual. Your real-world walking moves you along a route on screen. Souvenirs, stamps and medals are in-app keepsakes, not real-world awards, and StepTales doesn't suggest that you visit, access or walk these places in person. Route information and stories are for enjoyment and may simplify real places.

Your health

StepTales isn't a medical device and doesn't give medical advice. Walk within your own limits, and talk to a health professional before starting a new exercise routine. Step counts and distances come from Apple Health and depend on your devices.

StepTales Passport (subscription)

• StepTales Passport unlocks Passport journeys. It's available monthly or yearly. Eligible new subscribers may be offered an introductory first year, paid up front.
• Payment is charged to your Apple account when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends, at the current price.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
• If your subscription ends:
• you keep your souvenirs, stamps and history;
• you can finish a Passport journey you've already started;
• starting a new Passport journey needs an active subscription.

Free journeys stay free.

• Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you buy.

The app's stories, illustrations and design belong to Keith McKinney, trading as StepTales, or are used under licence. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence. Credits are listed in the app under Settings → More information → Sources.

Changes and availability

We may update journeys, events and features. Time-limited events run only during their stated dates.
